Job summary

Landmark Software & Services in Oslo is seeking a Lead Frontend Software Engineer to own the frontend architecture of our engineering application. You will lead the development of a high-performance React/TypeScript workspace used for analytics, simulation and visualization, collaborating with domain experts, product managers, designers, and backend engineers.

The role combines hands-on development with architectural leadership, establishing standards, and long-term ownership of frontend quality

Qualifications

• Experience leading frontend architecture of a complex production application.
• Built analytics/data-heavy frontend for engineering or scientific workflows.
• Strong understanding of scalable frontend design.
• Experience with state management tools such as Zustand, TanStack Query, Redux or equivalent.
• Experience with API design and asynchronous backend integration.
• Strong frontend testing, debugging, observability and production-troubleshooting practices.
• Familiarity with visualization technologies (D3.js, Plotly, Three.js) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define frontend architecture and establish engineering standards for the engineering workspace.
• Lead development to ensure performance, reliability and maintainability of the frontend.
• Collaborate with product, design, backend engineers and other developers to translate complex requirements into intuitive user experiences.
• Mentor engineers and drive long-term frontend quality and performance.
