Crunched is seeking a hands-on Lead Designer to own the end-to-end user experience for an AI-powered product that lives inside Excel. You will define interaction models, evolve the design language and learn directly from users alongside engineers in a small team.

The role is full-time and on-site in Oslo. You will shape the UX framework, work with data-heavy workflows and ship practical solutions that make AI feel trustworthy and understandable for high-stakes professionals.

About the role

How do you make an AI analyst feel useful, understandable and trustworthy to people doing high-stakes work? Crunched is looking for a hands-on Lead Designer to own that challenge – from the first idea to the product customers use.

About Crunched

Crunched builds autonomous AI systems that work inside Excel, helping professionals with strategy, modelling and financial workflows without asking them to abandon the tools they already know. The company is backed by Y Combinator and has raised NOK 55 million in seed funding.

This is a chance to shape more than screens. You will define interaction models, evolve the design language and learn directly from users alongside engineers. The team is small, so your decisions can influence both the product customers use today and how design develops as the company grows. The role is full-time and on-site in Oslo.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end user experience, from concept to shipped product.
• Design interaction models for AI-driven workflows and help users understand and control the system.
• Build and evolve a UX framework based on research, user feedback and iteration.
• Design within Excel’s constraints and work closely with engineers to ship practical solutions.
• Shape the long-term UX strategy and design language, testing ideas with real users.

Who we are looking for

• A senior, strategically strong UX designer who remains hands-on.
• Strong experience designing data-heavy, B2B or professional software.
• A systematic approach to UX, informed by user psychology, research and feedback.
• Experience with AI-powered products or complex automation tools.
• A strong visual sense, high ownership and the ability to collaborate closely with engineers.
• Comfortable working on-site in Oslo.
