Overview

Join SAS as our Labour Lawyer in Norway!

As Labour Lawyer at SAS, you will be a trusted legal advisor in a fast-paced, international environment. You’ll work closely with senior leadership, People & Culture, and operational teams to ensure compliance with Norwegian and Scandinavian labour laws, while also helping shape SAS’ strategic approach to industrial relations.

This role is pivotal in maintaining constructive relationships with trade unions and employer associations, and in safeguarding SAS’ interests in negotiations, disputes, and regulatory matters. You’ll be involved in both strategic planning and hands-on legal work, with a strong emphasis on collective labour law and cross-border collaboration. You will receive regular training and participate in professional networks.

This is a full-time position based in SAS’ offices in Oslo, Gardermoen. You will report to the Vice President of Industrial Relations and Labour Law, at SAS HQ in Stockholm. You will be part of the Scandinavian department responsible for individual and collective labour law, as well as collective bargaining for the SAS Group, comprising all countries where SAS operates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert legal guidance on employment and labour law matters to internal stakeholders, including People & Culture, management, and negotiation teams.
  • Be an important part of out-of-court negotiations, together with head of negotiations, and represent SAS in employment-related disputes, including mediation and arbitration.
  • Contribute to the development of SAS’ labour law strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and legal frameworks.
  • Draft legal documents, consultation responses, and conduct independent investigations into workplace matters.
  • Act as a liaison with trade unions, employer associations, and regulatory bodies, fostering constructive dialogue and collaboration.
  • Stay abreast of legislative developments in Norway, Scandinavia, and the EU, and proactively assess their impact on SAS operations.
  • Participate in legal networks and training programs to continuously enhance your expertise and share knowledge with colleagues.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Master of Laws (LL.M.) from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment law, preferably with a strong focus on collective labour law.
  • Proven experience representing employers in disputes; background in employer associations is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Norwegian and Scandinavian labour law frameworks and cross-border legal coordination.
  • Competence and experience from the transportation industry, that will be great but not a requirement
  • Exceptional communication skills in English and Norwegian languages (written and verbal).
Personal Characteristics
  • Proactive with a can-do attitude and resilience under pressure
  • Persuasive communicator, confident in negotiations and presentations
  • Analytical and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative and confident in engaging with internal stakeholders and trade unions.
  • Passionate about labour law and committed to staying current in the field.
  • Like working in a team but is also comfortable working on your own when this is appropriate
  • You must enjoy a great variety of tasks, while you get to know the various parts of the SAS group across Scandinavia.
What We Offer
  • A high-impact role with significant responsibility and influence in a growing and well established Company.
  • Opportunities to work closely with decision-makers and be part of the future journey of SAS.
  • Working with us comes with competitive compensation and a variety of benefits, including: discounted travel opportunities around the world, access to health and wellness benefits, discounts from a wide range of brands, as well as on transportation to and from airports, airport shops, hotels, and car rentals.
