Overview

As a Junior Tooling Technician, your primary objective is to support the readiness and reliability of all marine and offshore rental equipment by assisting in routine servicing, inspections, and minor repairs under supervision. You will adhere strictly to technical and safety protocols in accordance with industry regulations, while developing foundational technical skills in handling specialized offshore equipment. Additionally, you will contribute to the overall efficiency of workshop operations by helping maintain tool inventory, organizing the workspace, and ensuring equipment is properly labeled, stored, and maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the inspection, servicing, and repair of marine and offshore rental equipment.
  • Clean, test, and prepare equipment for rental or resale, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards
  • Support senior technicians in diagnosing faults in hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Conduct basic assembly, pressure testing, and tagging of offshore equipment before deployment.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored, labeled, and maintained in accordance with workshop protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, inspections performed, and certifications updated.
  • Follow strict safety and compliance protocols relevant to offshore and marine operations.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, training sessions, and continuous improvement initiatives within the workshop.
  • Participate in risk assessments and company’s Quality Management System including reporting and responding to assigned cases
Competence Requirements
  • Technical or vocational qualification in mechanical, electrical, or marine engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • Basic knowledge of marine or offshore equipment and the ability to read simple technical manuals or schematics.
  • Understanding of industry-specific safety practices (e.g., manual handling, working at heights, confined spaces, PPE usage).
  • Physically fit and able to work in environments involving heavy lifting, outdoor work, or offshore exposure.
  • A positive, safety-conscious attitude and willingness to learn procedures specific to offshore equipment handling.
