Its time to build! Emerald Nuclear Norway AS is a wholly owned subsidiary of Emerald Nuclear Inc., a maritime nuclear energy company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Located in Ålesund, Norway, the company aims to lead market development, engineering, testing, and commerzialisation of maritime nuclear energy systems. Lately there has been a fundamental shift in attitudes toward nuclear energy and its role in the decarbonisation of the maritime industry. Nuclear energy has the potential to provide a commercially viable zero-emission alternative to fossil fuels, while delivering the energy efficiency, endurance, and operational reliability required by the maritime market. We place the highest focus on the safety, security and safeguards in order to protect people, ships, communities, and the environment throughout the entire lifecycle of the ship and its nuclear energy system. Our objective is clear: to enable the deployment of the first commercial nuclear-powered offshore demonstration vessel on the Norwegian Continental Shelf by 2031.
