Job description

Are you ready to lead a dedicated team and represent KONGSBERG in a high-profile international project?

Division Missile and Space (DMS) is seeking an engaged and experienced Field Service Representative Manager (FSRM) for an exciting expatriate assignment supporting the NSM Land Systems and the USMC Navy/Marine Expeditionary Ship Interdiction System (NMESIS) project.

You will be part of DMS-M47 Through Life Support following the USMC project timeline. In this critical role, you will lead a team of two or more Field Service Representatives (FSRs) providing on-site support to operate, diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain, train, and repair the NMESIS system. All spare parts shall be tracked by the FSR and reported to the FSRM, with location and status communicated in a monthly status report. You will act as the main point of contact with the U.S. Government, ensuring coordination and visibility across all contract activities to prevent duplication of effort and maintain operational excellence.

This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership and technical expertise in an international environment, where you will inspire your team to deliver world-class service to the United States Marine Corps (USMC).

You will join a committed, knowledgeable, and positive team that supports each other extensively. We enjoy our work while delivering world-class support to our customers and colleagues throughout KONGSBERG’s global organization.

Key accountabilities:
  • Responsible for safe service execution, health, and wellbeing of our FSRs.
  • Administrative responsibility for FSRs, including resource planning and day-to-day follow-up.
  • Ensuring that visas, health certificates, and other relevant documentation needed for travel are always in order.
  • Use FSR and customer feedback to continuously improve performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Support FSRs whenever needed, ensuring sufficient FSRs are available to meet all performance metrics for training and field exercises as defined by each unit’s training and exercise employment plan, to be identified by the Government.
  • Participate in FSR training and evaluate competence prior to field deployment.
  • Report on project status to the Project Manager.
  • Report on technical status to the Project Chief Engineer.
  • Conduct off-site customer meetings as required to discuss upcoming works or dispute resolutions.
  • Inventory spare parts and FSR equipment monthly, documenting in the monthly status report in cooperation with on-site FSR.
  • Provide in-office technical support and remote services to customers and colleagues.
  • Travel activities are expected.
Qualifications and experience:
  • Strong administrative skills and a structured approach to work.
  • Solid technical understanding; experience in field service or defense background is advantageous.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English are essential.
  • Highly motivated for international travel and expatriate assignments.
  • Eligible to obtain worldwide work visas.
About you:

You are versatile and able to see the bigger picture. You enjoy working independently while thriving in collaboration across disciplines, with colleagues and customers alike. Relationship-building and clear communication are central to your work approach.

We seek someone proactive, solution-oriented, and decisive. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a focus on relationship-building and dialogue with customers and other disciplines, are essential. You work analytically, maintain structure, and quickly familiarize yourself with new products and systems.

This employment will require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check, and security clearance to Navy/USMC sites.

What we offer
  • Exciting and varied workdays in a high-tech environment.
  • Focus on professional and personal development.
  • Good opportunities for growth.
  • Competitive terms, including pension and insurance schemes.
  • Attractive employee share program.
  • Inclusive, collaborative work environment with knowledge sharing and strong team spirit.
