Job summary

Sony Europe is seeking an IC Digital Design Intern to contribute to the design and development of advanced CMOS image sensors. You will join an international team working on timing and control signals for pixel arrays, amplifiers, ADCs, and signal processing blocks.

The internship will run in the Summer of 2027, based in Lysaker near Oslo, and you will collaborate with teams in Europe and Japan to define specifications and develop RTL/firmware to control the sensor and process video data.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program with at least one year remaining.
  • Academic background in technical, electronics or software subjects.
  • English language proficiency is required.
  • Valid permit to work in Norway is required.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop advanced CMOS image sensors as part of an IC Digital Design intern role.
  • Contribute to timing and control signals for pixel array readout, amplifiers, ADCs, and signal processing blocks for noise reduction and colour enhancement.
  • Develop RTL/firmware to control the sensor and process video data; act as a hands-on contributor responsible for design success.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across Europe and Japan to define specifications and verify designs.

Job description

We are seeking an IC Digital Design Intern who will be involved in the design and development of advanced CMOS image sensors.

You will be part of an international team that works in the design of timing and control signals for pixel array readout, amplifiers, analogue/digital converters, signal processing blocks for noise reduction and colour enhancement, as well as I/O interfaces and low noise power supplies for use in Sony Semiconductor Solutions Image Sensors and similar speciality state‑of‑the‑art products.

You will be part of a multi‑discipline camera and imaging systems team, defining and documenting specifications, as well as developing RTL/firmware to control the sensor and process the video data. You will be a hands‑on contributor who will also take full responsibility for the success of the design.

You will work closely with other teams in Japan and the rest of the design teams in Europe, with cross‑functional teams (analogue design, PI, product engineering, and functional safety teams).

The internship will run in the Summer of 2027.
