Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Technician to support the commissioning of a major hyperscale data centre in Northern Norway. You will perform L1-L3 commissioning activities, review documentation, and coordinate with vendors and BMS teams to ensure successful start-up and testing of HVAC systems.

Candidates should have hands-on data centre commissioning experience, familiarity with CxPlanner, and be available for the 19/9 rotation in Northern Norway.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering L1-L3 mechanical commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with HVAC, chilled-water systems and pumps.
• Experience on data centres or similar critical environments.
• Experience with commissioning scripts, functional testing, inspections and start-up.
• Familiarity with CxPlanner or equivalent tool.

Responsibilities

• Carry out L1-L3 mechanical commissioning activities per plans and procedures.
• Review FAT docs, submittals, O&M manuals and commissioning requirements (L1).
• Complete mechanical installation inspections, walkdowns, equipment verification and checklists (L2).
• Support vendor start-up, pre-functional checks and functional testing (L3).
• Commission and test chillers, pumps, chilled-water systems, CRAH/CRAC, AHUs and related HVAC equipment.
• Verify cooling system operation, hydronic performance, airflow and heat rejection systems.
• Work with BMS teams to verify control sequences, setpoints, alarms and operation.
• Identify defects, track punch-list items, maintain commissioning records.
• Provide daily progress updates and join commissioning coordination meetings.
• Support wider commissioning team with documentation for L4/L5 readiness.
