Job summary

Clear. in Stavanger, Norway is seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to support the delivery and commissioning of critical mechanical systems in a major data centre development.

You will work with commissioning, construction and engineering teams to ensure installations are tested, commissioned and handed over to meet specifications, quality standards and operational requirements. The role requires coordinating multiple contractors, reviewing documentation, and maintaining HSE

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer on large-scale projects.
• Experience with data centres or critical facilities.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, chilled water and cooling systems.
• Experience with commissioning documentation and handover.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical commissioning activities across data centre systems.
• Oversee testing and commissioning of HVAC, chilled water, cooling plant, pumps, pipework.
• Execute commissioning procedures, functional performance testing and integrated systems testing.
• Review method statements, risk assessments, commissioning plans and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors and client representatives to resolve technical issues.
• Manage commissioning punch lists, defect resolution and system handover documentation.
• Ensure all activities comply with project HSE requirements and applicable technical standards.
• Support commissioning progress reporting and coordination meetings.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer to join a major data centre development in Stavanger, Norway. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery and commissioning of critical mechanical systems within a high-performance, mission-critical environment.

Working alongside the wider commissioning, construction and engineering teams, you will play a key role in ensuring all mechanical installations are tested, commissioned and handed over in accordance with project specifications, quality standards and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support mechanical commissioning activities across critical data centre systems.
• Oversee the testing and commissioning of HVAC, chilled water, cooling plant, pumps, pipework and associated mechanical equipment.
• Execute commissioning procedures, functional performance testing and integrated systems testing support.
• Review method statements, risk assessments, commissioning plans and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors and client representatives to resolve technical issues.
• Manage commissioning punch lists, defect resolution and system handover documentation.
• Ensure all activities comply with project HSE requirements and applicable technical standards.
• Support commissioning progress reporting and coordination meetings.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Commissioning Engineer on large-scale construction or mission-critical projects.
• Experience with data centres, pharmaceutical facilities, industrial plants or other complex mechanical installations.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, cooling infrastructure and mechanical plant.
• Experience with commissioning documentation, functional testing and system handover.
• Ability to coordinate multiple contractors and work effectively within a fast-paced project environment.
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
