Job summary

Noble Drilling Norge AS in Norway is seeking a Hydraulic Mechanic to perform inspections and repairs on hydraulic equipment across all areas onboard offshore units.

You will carry out preventive maintenance, monitor hydraulic components, order spare parts, and keep manuals and service reports up to date, while coordinating with supervisors and other departments.

Qualifications

  • Background as Craftsman within heavy industries preferred.
  • Offshore drilling experience preferred.
  • Certified Mechanic with an approved apprenticeship preferred.
  • Training according to training matrix.
  • Computer literate.
  • Conversant with safety management system.
  • Good verbal and written English skills.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, components and principles of fluid power.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections, repairs and maintenance of hydraulic installations and equipment onboard offshore units.
  • Monitor the condition of hydraulic parts of drilling equipment.
  • Implement outstanding recommendations from equipment audits by customer, class or management.
  • Carry out periodic maintenance and coordinate with supervisors and other departments.
  • Maintain equipment manuals and service reports; advise on spare parts availability.
  • Order spare parts and maintain adequate stock of spares.
  • Carry out tasks safely following company policies and procedures.
  • Daily cleaning and housekeeping in workshops and other areas.
  • Participate in safety and technical meetings; onboard training of drilling crew.

Job description

The Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for performing inspections and repairs on hydraulic equipment in all areas onboard.

Responsible for:

Carrying out inspections, repairs and maintenance of the hydraulic installations and equipment

Monitoring the condition of hydraulic parts of the drilling equipment

Implementation of outstanding recommendations from equipment audits by customer, class or management

Carry out periodic maintenance according to the planned maintenance guidelines and coordinate same with supervisors and other departments

Maintain equipment manuals, service reports and advise supervisor on condition of equipment and spare parts availability

Order new spare parts and maintain an adequate stock of spares in order to fulfil maintenance requirements

Carry out assigned tasks in a safe manner following company policies and procedures

Daily cleaning and housekeeping in workshops and other areas

Other relevant maintenance tasks

Department safety meeting and technical meetings as directed by supervisor

On-The-Job training of drilling crew
