Job summary

IKM is seeking an experienced HVAC design engineer for Norwegian land-based projects, located in Asker, Oslo. You will verify technical and contractual requirements, perform airflow and cooling load calculations, and contribute to design philosophies, P&IDs and system descriptions.

The role requires 10+ years in HVAC design, TEK17 knowledge, and fluent Norwegian/English. You will work full-time with the possibility of part-time for the right candidate, reporting through the project team and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field.
• 10+ years of HVAC design experience in Norwegian land-based projects.
• Experience from chemical process industry or equivalent process plants is advantageous.
• Experience from multidisciplinary project environments is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of TEK17 and relevant Norwegian regulations and standards.
• Excellent knowledge of Norwegian (or other Scandinavian language) and good English communication.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• High level of responsibility for quality, progress and deliveries; ability to work independently, structured and accurate.

Responsibilities

• Design verification of HVAC systems: inspection of technical and contractual requirements, airflow and cooling load calculations, flowcharts, P&IDs, design philosophies, system descriptions and technical reports.
• Analyze contract requirements and participate in technical clarifications with the client.
• Calculate airflow based on ventilation needs, transmission loss and heat dissipation in rooms.
• Prepare Basis for Design (BFD), HVAC philosophy and system descriptions.
• Develop schematic airflow diagrams and D&IDs; size main HVAC equipment for capacity and space.
• Provide senior HVAC system expertise from concept to construction/installation and participate in design reviews.
• Coordinate HVAC deliverables with other project disciplines.
• Contribute to procedures for testing, commissioning and start-up of HVAC systems.
