Fossefall is building Nordic AI Factories that combine clean energy, data centers and sovereign AI capabilities. We are preparing our first facilities for commercial operation, with ambitions to become a leading Nordic AI infrastructure platform.

We seek a Head of Operations to build and lead the organisation responsible for running our facilities and delivering GPU-as-a-Service. You will influence decisions on partnerships, operating models and scale as we grow across the Nordics.

We are looking for a Head of Operations to build and lead the organisation responsible for running our facilities and delivering our GPU-as-a-Service offering. Key decisions about the organisation, partnerships and ways of working lie ahead, giving you real influence over how Fossefall is built and scaled.

This is a unique chance to shape how AI infrastructure is built and operated across the Nordics.

The role

During the first phase, your priority is to establish our Operations function from the ground up. This means building the organisation, defining responsibilities and putting systems, procedures and partner agreements in place before our first facilities go live.

In this, you will work closely with our Development and Project Delivery teams to ensure operational requirements are addressed throughout planning, construction, commissioning, and handover.

Once the facilities are in commercial operation, the role carries overall responsibility for both data center operations and customer-facing GPU-as-a-Service delivery. This spans uptime and capacity, customer onboarding, service levels and ongoing support, with an organisation and operating model that can grow alongside our Nordic portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure operational readiness throughout development, construction, commissioning and handover
• Put procedures, systems and support functions in place for launch and ongoing operations
• Lead data center operations and GPU-as-a-Service delivery, including customer onboarding, service quality and SLA performance
• Oversee incident, change and capacity management to support reliable operations
• Select and manage operational partners, suppliers and service providers
• Develop the team and operating model as new facilities enter service across the Nordics

Experience and qualifications

We are looking for a leader with experience in data center operations and a track record of building, scaling or transforming an Operations function. Turning plans into a working organisation should be a familiar part of your experience.

• Operating mission-critical infrastructure and leading teams in technical or operational environments
• Establishing teams, processes and governance structures
• Managing suppliers, contractors and service providers
• Delivering customer-facing services against agreed service levels

Experience with commissioning, handover or the transition from construction to operations would be particularly valuable during the initial phase. Familiarity with cloud, HPC, GPU or AI infrastructure is an advantage, but not a requirement.
