Job summary

Arm in Trondheim offers a 10-week hardware internship starting in June 2027. Join our team to explore graphics processor design, verification and implementation, and help shape the next generation of Arm technology alongside experienced engineers.

You should be enrolled in Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, with a passion for coding, processors, graphics and digital systems. The role offers hybrid working, a competitive hourly rate of NOK 270–290, and mentoring

Responsibilities

• Investigate design improvements for functionality, performance, energy, and silicon area.
• Propose and implement improvements for hardware bug detection flows.
• Read/write specifications, test plans and investigation reports.
• Write code to test GPU functionality and describe behavior/microarchitecture.
• Improve and develop modern flows for graphics hardware design/validation/implementation

Here, the team combines hiking, skiing, and trips on the fjord with developing Mali, the world's most shipped GPU.

Whatyou could be doing as an Intern?

Join our hardware team and help shape the next generation of Arm technology. We're looking for curious students with an interest in graphics processor design, verification, and implementation who are eager to learn and contribute. As an intern with us you will typically explore tasks within one of these areas:

• Investigating design improvements that satisfies requirements related to functionality, performance, energy consumption and silicon area.
• Proposing and implementing improvements in systems used for finding intricate hardware bugs in an efficient manner.
• Reading and writing specifications, test plans and investigation reports.
• Writing code for systems that tests that the GPU works as intended.
• Writing code that describes the behavior and microarchitecture of the design.
• Improving and developing modern, world-class flows for graphics hardware design/validation/implementation.

We are looking for individuals who:

Are currently enrolled and studying towards a degree within Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science. Candidates with alternative degrees will also be considered if they have relevant experience or an interest in hardware development.

If you enjoy coding and are interested in processors, graphics, and digital systems, we'd love to hear from you.

Qualities that will help your application stand out:

• Understanding of computer architecture concepts
• Exposure to RTL design or FPGA prototyping (e.g. Verilog/VHDL)
• Solid programming skills
• Good interpersonal skills with an analytical approach
• Ability to communicate creative ideas in a precise manner
