Job summary

Nord Gas Solutions is seeking a hands-on Head of Financial Control to lead accounting and financial control across an international group. You will own monthly close, consolidation, statutory reporting, audit and high-quality financial statements, while leading a cross-country team and shaping our finance platform.

You will drive IFRS policy, oversee statutory reporting, and partner with auditors, treasury and project controllers on revenue recognition and balance sheet exposures.

Qualifications

• Professional accounting qualification, such as state-authorised or registered accountant or auditor, ACA, ACCA or CPA, or a master’s degree in accounting or auditing.
• At least ten years of relevant post-qualification experience, including three or more years leading accounting teams across several legal entities.
• Deep IFRS knowledge from a project-based environment, including long-term contract revenue, variation orders and claims, provisions, inventory and work in progress, leases, foreign currency, deferred tax and hedge accounting.
• Strong group consolidation experience across several entities and currencies, including intercompany eliminations, currency translation and owner reporting to fixed deadlines.
• Experience directing statutory accounting across several jurisdictions, working with local advisers and reconciling local GAAP to IFRS.
• Proven ownership of the monthly close, reconciliation standards, external audits and controls over financial reporting, including segregation of duties.
• Experience leading international teams and managing outsourced accounting and payroll providers.
• Finance leadership experience from an ERP implementation, including chart of accounts, data migration and opening balances.
• A hands‑on approach: you prepare technical accounting positions, review the detail and work pragmatically with auditors, owners, business controllers and project controllers.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close, consolidation and group reporting on fixed deadlines.
• Own group accounting policies under IFRS and make sound technical accounting judgements.
• Ensure statutory accounts, VAT reporting and tax accounting are completed across the relevant jurisdictions.
• Lead external audits for the entities and the group.
• Strengthen financial reporting controls, reconciliations, payment approvals and segregation of duties.
• Oversee accounting operations covering payables, receivables, fixed assets, leases, inventory, work in progress, payroll and treasury accounting.
• Lead and develop the Financial Control team across several countries.
• Manage outsourced accounting and payroll providers, including service quality, deliverables and issue escalation.
• Take a leading finance role in the transition from SAP to IFS, while continuing group reporting in Lucanet.
