Job summary

Alpha International is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance Team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong controls, support budgeting and forecasting, and provide insights to support the organisation's mission.

The role involves monthly reconciliations, year-end accounts preparation, and collaboration with budget holders to drive financial efficiency and governance.

Qualifications

• Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent).
• Experience in finance or accounting environment.
• Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and Office knowledge.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations, journals and analysis.
• Support production of management accounts, forecasts and budgets.
• Maintain strong financial controls and regulatory reporting.
• Assist year-end accounts preparation, audit requirements and Charity Commission reporting.
• Partner with budget holders to provide financial guidance and analysis.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and reporting efficiency.
