Job summary

Hydro Energy invites motivated students to join our Oslo-based sustainability team for a GIS internship. You will work on mapping environmental and social footprints using ArcGIS or QGIS and gain real-world experience in a renewables business.

This role emphasizes independence and teamwork, with guidance from experienced colleagues. You'll contribute to restoration assessments, develop map layers, and provide strategic insights to support project development across facilities and new ventures in

Qualifications

Master’s degree or higher in geography, natural resource management, biology, geomatics or environmental engineering.
Proficiency in Norwegian and English, written and spoken.
Experience with GIS tools such as ArcGIS or QGIS is an advantage.
Work independently and collaborate well in interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Use GIS tools to map and analyse Hydro Energy’s environmental and social footprint.
Map potential impacts on natural values and identify opportunities to avoid, reduce or mitigate adverse impacts.
Explore restoration opportunities around existing facilities and new projects.
Compile national map layers and environmental data to provide strategic insight for GIS-based sustainability work.
