Job summary

Wärtsilä is seeking a Technical Expert to join its Propulsion Control Systems team in Norway, with preferred location Rubbestadneset or Haugesund. The role can be titled Technical Expert or Senior Technical Expert.

You will develop solutions for discontinued components and support product improvements across global projects. The ideal candidate holds a relevant engineering degree or equivalent experience, has PLC programming skills, and is fluent in English and Norwegian.

Qualifications

• B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical & Automation Engineering or Mechatronics & Automation Engineering required or considered with relevant work experience.
• Good PLC programming skills.
• Willingness to learn Propulsion Controls Systems (PCS).
• Experience with analysis and reporting.
• Structured, analytical and proactive approach to work.
• Fluent in English and Norwegian (spoken and written).

Responsibilities

• Engineering and development of new solutions for discontinued components.
• Participation in development processes for Propulsion Control Systems; support with improvements and new releases.
• Provide technical advice, failure analysis and condition analysis for services.
• Travel globally onsite for field testing, site surveys and failure investigations.
• Update Product Data when modifications are made to installations.
