Job summary

University of Utah Health seeks a highly skilled Flight Paramedic to join its air transport team. You will provide advanced life support and critical care at scene or during inter-hospital transports, under challenging flight conditions, and you may administer medications within scope of practice.

You must have 5 years of critical care transport/EMS experience, valid Paramedic licensure in Utah and Wyoming, and ABLS/ATLS and FP-C/CCP-C within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in critical care transport or EMS.
• Weight limit less than 215 lbs fully dressed for flight duty.
• ABLS or Burn Education within one year of hire.
• ATLS or equivalent within one year of hire.
• FP-C or CCP-C within one year of hire.
• Continuing education related to transport CAMTS requirements.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the scene, triages patients and provides advanced life support.
• Assists with locating and establishing a landing zone for the aircraft.
• Provides and oversees direct patient care during transport and extrusion.
• Plans, evaluates and implements interventions for patient care.
• Transfers patients and equipment between aircraft, cart and gurney.
