TMC Transportation, Inc in Trondheim, Norway seeks a Fleet Maintenance Coordinator to manage and coordinate responses to truck and trailer breakdowns, acting as the central communication point between drivers, maintenance shops, roadside providers and operations.

The role tracks all breakdown events, arranges service, manages costs and ensures a safe, timely return of equipment to service, helping to minimize downtime and protect load schedules and customer commitments.

Responsibilities

• Receive and respond promptly to driver breakdown calls or alerts.
• Assess repair needs and determine appropriate repair solutions (roadside service, tow, in-house shop).
• Dispatch roadside service providers or tow trucks when needed.
• Coordinate with drivers to ensure safety at breakdown locations.
• Maintain a network of approved roadside repair vendors and shops.
• Evaluate repair rates and monitor service quality.
• Verify vendor invoices for accuracy before payment approval.
• Keep drivers, dispatchers, and operations team informed of repair status and ETAs.
• Document all breakdown incidents in maintenance management systems.
• Track repair timelines and follow up on parts orders and service delays.
• Monitor repair expenses to stay within budget.
• Minimize truck and trailer downtimes to protect load schedules and customer commitments.
