Job summary

Valarian Technologies in London seeks a hands-on Finance Manager to own finance operations, month-end close, and management reporting within a growing, early‑stage business.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will drive end‑to‑end processes, implement pragmatic automation, manage equity transactions, and coordinate with external advisers.

Ideal candidates have 4–7 years in finance, ACA/ACCA/CIMA or finalist, and experience with Xero or similar.

Qualifications

• Approximately 4–7 years of experience in management accounting, finance operations or a broad finance role.
• Experience in a startup, scale‑up or fast‑moving SME is desirable.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills with reconciliations and financial models.
• Experience coordinating external accountants, tax advisers and other specialists.

Responsibilities

• Own the day‑to‑day finance operations including AP/AR, expenses and supplier onboarding.
• Manage end‑to‑end supplier invoicing, approvals and payment runs.
• Prepare month‑end journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany balances.
• Produce monthly management accounts with KPIs and variance analysis.
• Coordinate year‑end, tax filings and statutory compliance.
