Job description

Overview

Reelwell is revolutionizing the future of the energy industry by enabling data integration and the electrification of wells from drilling to production. Our flagship product line, DualLink, drives the sector’s digital transformation through a high-bandwidth, powered telemetry network from surface to downhole. This technology transforms how wells are drilled and produced - enhancing efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

To support our continued growth, we are looking for experienced Field Engineers to join our operations team.

As a Field Engineer, you will be at the forefront of deploying and supporting Powered Wired Drill Pipe (WDP) technology in live drilling environments. You will play a critical role in delivering high-quality, real-time drilling and formation data, and act as the link between offshore operations and our Real-Time Operating Center (RTOC).

This is a hybrid role for tech-savvy professionals who can thrive both offshore and in data-driven environments. If you're ready to work with high-speed telemetry, drive real-time decision-making, and optimize performance in dynamic drilling environments - we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities
  • Deploying, operating, and maintaining Powered Wired Drill Pipe systems and MWD/LWD tools offshore.
  • Troubleshooting and optimizing downhole telemetry systems and sensors.
  • Delivering high-quality, real-time drilling and formation data to onshore teams.
  • Supporting real-time drilling operations from the RTOC, including data monitoring, QA/QC, and remote troubleshooting.
  • Collaborating with rig crews, drilling engineers, and subsurface experts to improve wellbore placement and drilling performance.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on MWD/LWD experience, preferably offshore.
  • Familiarity with Wired Drill Pipe systems.
  • Experience supporting or operating within a Real-Time Operating Center (RTOC).
  • Strong understanding of downhole telemetry, WITS/WITSML, and drilling software platforms.
  • Valid offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET, HUET).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Applicants must be eligible to live and work in Norway at the time of application.
Preferred experience
  • Background in geosteering or formation evaluation.
  • Knowledge of data automation tools (Python, VBA, etc.).
  • Experience with remote data integration, rig communications, and real-time data platforms.
What we offer

If you are looking for a high-impact role where you can work with cutting-edge drilling technologies and make a real difference, this could be your next step. We offer a competitive package, flexible schedules, and opportunities for training and career development in a collaborative, innovative, and global team.
