Job summary

NOV Downhole in Stavanger is seeking a Service Technician to maintain and repair downhole drilling tools, supporting offshore operations. You’ll work in a high-tech, safety-focused workshop environment alongside quality, CI engineers, and supply chain teams to minimize downtime.

You will perform repairs, assist in tool preparation for NDT, operate lifting equipment, keep the workshop organized, and uphold QHSE standards while delivering reliable service to offshore customers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical background (e.g. car mechanic).
• Fluent in English.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

Responsibilities

• Perform repair and maintenance on downhole drilling equipment.
• General workshop duties: cleaning, prepping tools for NDT inspection, dispatch preparation.
• Operate workshop service and lifting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Follow and promote QHSE standards.
• Participate in regular equipment checks and preventive maintenance routines.

• Working experience as a Service Technician on drilling tools
• Familiarity with mud motors
• Norwegian language skills (spoken/written)
• Forklift license (T4, T5, T8)
• Crane license (G4)
• Knowledge of HSE standards
