Job summary

Scantrol Deep Vision is developing CamSounder, a new underwater camera and sonar system using AI and computer vision to give fishing vessels real-time information about what is entering the trawl, including species and size. We are looking for a Product & Field Engineer to help us develop, test and bring this technology into commercial use.

You will work closely with our product development teams in Bergen and Girona, combining technical product work with regular field testing onboard fishing

Qualifications

• Hands-on field operations on vessels.
• Background in fisheries, marine technology, electronics, or automation.
• Willingness to travel regularly and on short notice.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical systems systematically.
• Interest in AI, computer vision, and new technology for commercial fishing.
• Bachelor's or Master's in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Strong collaboration with Bergen and Girona teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and carry out CamSounder installations, trials and demonstrations onboard vessels
• Prepare and coordinate field activities with customers, partners and our development teams
• Support customers during deployment, operation and testing
• Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate solutions with the development team
• Work directly with skippers, vessel owners, researchers and industry partners
• Collect operational feedback and data for continued product development
• Train customers and crews in the use of CamSounder
• Participate in R&D projects across new species, fisheries and applications
• Help turn successful trials into robust commercial solutions
