Skilled in embedded hardware? We’ve got an exciting role in Kongsberg!

Manpower is searching for a talented Embedded Hardware Developer on behalf of one of our clients in Kongsberg.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define hardware requirements in collaboration with system and software architects, and product owners
  • Design and develop embedded hardware circuits, PCBAs, and FPGA modules (including schematic, layout, component selection, and prototyping)
  • Perform functional verification of embedded hardware and FPGA designs
  • Collaborate with system architects, mechanical designers, layout, manufacturing, SW, and reliability teams
  • Develop and execute test and verification procedures, and document results

We’re looking for someone with:
  • BSc, MSc, or PhD in electronics, automation, cybernetics, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of industrial experience in embedded hardware development
  • Structured problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation
  • Proficiency in English and openness to a multicultural team environment

Additional Competencies:
  • Experience with digital design, serial interfaces (CAN, I2C, SPI, USB, etc.), processor/SoC platforms
  • Knowledge of FPGAs (VHDL), SoC, signal processing
  • Hands-on experience with tools like LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, Quartus
  • Embedded coding in C/C++/assembly
  • Schematic and PCB layout using ECAD tools (Altium or similar)
  • Skilled in lab instrumentation and verification processes
  • Understanding of DFX principles, EMC, CE certification, and safety standards like IEC 61508
