Job summary

Nofence, a Norwegian scale-up in Trondheim or Molde, seeks an Electronics Engineer to design schematics and PCB layouts, bring up boards, and validate hardware from prototype to pilot production. You’ll collaborate with the embedded team on low power design for a solar-powered device.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab work, system integration decisions, and rapid iteration in a dynamic agri-tech environment. English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering or similar.
• Boards you have taken from schematic to working hardware, with a story about what went wrong.
• Strong fundamentals: analogue, power and digital design, signal integrity, EMC basics, power optimisation.
• Confidence with oscilloscope, spectrum analyser, DMM and PCBA debugging and testing.
• Experience with a professional PCB CAD tool. We’re moving from Altium to KiCad.
• Fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Design schematics and PCB layouts, and review designs with the team.
• Bring up new boards, subcircuits and reusable modules.
• Test and validate hardware from first prototype to pilot production.
• Build lab setups and find root causes when things break.
• Work with the embedded team on low power consumption. On a solar-powered device, every microamp counts.
