Job summary

Leap29 partners with a leading international engineering consultancy in Norway to hire an Electrical Engineer. The role offers ownership of energy engineering design, low voltage tasks, and exposure to procurement, drafting, and risk management.

The ideal candidate holds a technical degree or trade certificate, with 1–2 years in design preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit and English fluency are required; Norwegian is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level technical education preferred; a trade certificate is a strong bonus and relevant experience can compensate for formal education.
• 1–2 years of relevant design experience from the industrial or construction sector is advantageous but not strictly required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit or similar for electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Own and deliver electrical design work for energy engineering.
• Draft low voltage systems, including short-circuit calculations and load flow analysis.
• Prepare technical specifications for procurement of electrical equipment and packages.
• Create electrical drawings and schematics using industry-standard tools.
• Develop work packages with cost estimates, equipment specs, and installation descriptions.
• Conduct risk assessments and prepare declarations of conformity for designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Energy Engineering Design: Take ownership and responsibility for your own engineering design work.
• Low Voltage Engineering: Perform detailed engineering tasks within low voltage systems, including short circuit calculations, load flow analysis, and relay protection planning.
• Procurement Support: Prepare technical specifications for the procurement of electrical equipment and packages.
• Technical Drafting: Create accurate electrical drawings and schematics using industry-standard tools.
• Work Package Preparation: Develop comprehensive work packages featuring cost estimates, equipment specifications, and installation descriptions.
• Risk & Compliance: Conduct risk assessments and prepare declarations of conformity for designs.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: A solid technical education, preferably at a bachelor's level (a trade certificate is a strong bonus, and relevant experience can compensate for formal education).
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of relevant design experience from the industrial or construction sector is an advantage, but not strictly required.
• Software Proficiency: Comfortable drafting electrical diagrams using tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar platforms.
• Standards & Regulations: Knowledge of standards such as ATEX (IECEx) and NEK400/NEK420 (IEC 60079), as well as local regulatory frameworks (FEL, FEK).
• Bonus Skills: Familiarity with automation and/or high voltage systems.
• Communication: Fluent in English (written and spoken). Norwegian is also preferred
• Work Style: A strong team player who is equally comfortable working independently.
