Job summary

CITY OF BRADY is seeking an Electric Apprentice Lineman to support the city's power distribution system under supervision. This full-time role involves basic operation, maintenance, and safety practices for high-, medium-, and low-voltage lines and equipment.

The apprentice will learn under the Electric Superintendent or Lead Lineman, perform lifting and rigging tasks, and ensure compliance with safety standards; a Class B CDL and a HS diploma or GED are required or certification in overhead

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Certification in overhead power distribution maintenance preferred.
• Class B CDL required.

Responsibilities

• Engage in safe practices for high/medium/low voltage lines and equipment.
• Follow safety protocols for electrical distribution work.
• Operate boom trucks and drill rigs for distribution work.
• Assist in maintenance and operation of power lines and components.

Electric Apprentice Lineman (Full Time)

This is an apprentice lineman position performing basic operation and maintenance of the city's electrical power distribution system under the supervision of either the Electric Superintendent or Class A Lead Lineman.

Duties

• Engages in safe practices and operations of high-, medium-, and low-voltage power lines, conductors, transformers, and breakers
• Follows safety protocols or procedures for electrical distribution work practices
• Operates machinery, boom trucks and drill rigs for above-ground and below-ground electrical distribution transformers, conductors, power lines and poles
• Lifts and carries up to 80 pounds, and pulls, pushes, or drags up to 150 pounds while performing job duties, sits, stands, walks, climbs, crawls, kneels, squats, stoops, and twists for extended periods of time while performing job duties
• Works outdoors in extreme temperatures including heat and cold temperature swings and inclement weather
• Certification in overhead power distribution maintenance; Class B Commercial Drivers' License required, HS Diploma or GED required
