Job summary

RetailHub Sourcing seeks a compassionate caregiver to support elderly residents in Svalbard. You will assist with daily activities, medication management and personal care, promoting independence and dignity.

You will work with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure physical, emotional and social well-being, with opportunities for ongoing training and visa sponsorship where applicable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a caregiver or similar role is preferred but not required.
• Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in working with the elderly population.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills in English; knowledge of other languages is an asset.
• Ability to demonstrate patience, understanding and empathy towards seniors.
• Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting or assisting with mobility.
• Must be willing to undergo background checks and obtain necessary certifications/licenses.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Administering medication according to prescribed schedules.
• Monitoring vital signs and reporting any changes to the nurse on duty.
• Assisting with mobility and transferring residents safely.
• Providing companionship and engaging in meaningful activities with residents.
• Keeping accurate records of care provided and reporting incidents to the supervisor.
• Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
• Communicating effectively with residents, their families and other healthcare professionals.
