Job summary

Head Energy is seeking an experienced EICT Engineer with a strong Instrumentation & Control background for an offshore project based in Oslo. You will work with the engineering team, external contractors, and the shipyard team in China, coordinating interfaces across disciplines and ensuring timely deliverables.

The role requires strong English communication, willingness to travel internationally, and a proactive, cross-disciplinary approach.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years of experience in offshore engineering and I&C.
• Strong background in instrumentation and control systems.
• Experience coordinating engineering activities and following up with suppliers.
• Experience on offshore projects; FPSO/FLNG exp is advantageous.
• English fluency required; Norwegian knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform and coordinate engineering activities for instrumentation and control systems.
• Follow up with suppliers, subcontractors, and CIMC engineering deliverables.
• Review technical documentation, specifications, drawings and deliverables.
• Coordinate interfaces between disciplines, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Support clarifications and resolve engineering issues through project execution.
• Act as technical liaison between Oslo office and shipyard in China.
• Visit shipyard periodically to facilitate follow-up and coordination.
• Contribute across EICT disciplines including telecom-related work when needed.

Head Energy is looking for an experienced and versatile EICT Engineer with a strong background in Instrumentation & Control (I&C) for an exciting offshore project.

The role will primarily focus on engineering activities, technical coordination, and supplier follow-up. The successful candidate will work closely with the engineering team in Oslo, external engineering contractors, and the project team at the shipyard in China.

We are looking for a flexible and proactive engineer who enjoys working across disciplines and can contribute to a wide range of technical and project-related activities.

Job Description

• Perform and coordinate engineering activities related to instrumentation and control systems.
• Follow up engineering deliverables from suppliers, subcontractors, and CIMC engineering.
• Review technical documentation, specifications, drawings, and engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate technical interfaces between engineering disciplines, suppliers, and project stakeholders.
• Support technical clarifications and resolve engineering-related issues throughout project execution.
• Act as a technical link between the Oslo engineering office and the site team in China.
• Participate in periodic visits to the shipyard to facilitate efficient engineering follow-up and coordination.
• Contribute across EICT disciplines when required, including telecom-related activities where relevant.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably within offshore projects.
• Solid technical background in instrumentation and control systems.
• Experience with engineering coordination, supplier follow-up, and technical documentation.
• Relevant experience from offshore projects is required. FLNG/FPSO experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Knowledge of telecom systems is considered an advantage, but not a requirement.
• Relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical background.
• Good communication skills in English.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally for extended periods.
