Job summary

Balchem is seeking an HSE Manager to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of local health, safety, and environmental activities at two sites in Oslo. You will drive the EHS agenda, ensure compliance with regulations, and support a safe ramp-up of a new production facility.

Reporting to the Plant Manager and part of the Plant Leadership team, you will establish safety culture, manage inspections, audits, and training, and collaborate with external safety organizations

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in EHS in industrial environments (chemical/pharma/food preferred).
• University degree in safety/health or equivalent HSSE qualifications.
• Strong understanding of Process Safety and Environmental Controls.
• Alternative background in the Norwegian Armed Forces considered.
• Broad knowledge of Norwegian and European Environmental, Occupational Health, and Safety regulations.
• Strong leadership and communication in Norwegian/Scandinavian languages and English.

Responsibilities

• Performs periodic EHS inspections and audits.
• Maintains up-to-date EHS procedures, SOPs, and training requirements.
• Implements environmental risk management for air emissions, waste, and wastewater.
• Maintains emergency plans and SDS requirements.
• Supports management in improving safety and environmental procedures.
• Reviews capital projects for EHS compliance.
• Prepares environmental and safety compliance reports.
