Job summary

The University of Oslo invites applications for a Researcher position in Early Earth Processes within the Centre for Planetary Habitability (PHAB) at UiO. The position is full-time for 3 years with a starting date no later than 01.01.2027, located at PHAB, Blindern, Oslo.

The successful candidate will conduct geochemical investigations of Archean-Paleoproterozoic rocks, engage in fieldwork and laboratory analyses using SIMS and U-Pb dating, and contribute to publications.

Qualifications

  • Requires Norwegian doctoral-equivalent degree in geosciences and approved defence.
  • Fluent oral and written English
  • Strong publication track record in geosciences
  • Extensive Archean craton and greenstone belt field experience
  • Experience with stable isotope systematics (C,N,S,O) and SIMS
  • Experience with U-Pb zircon geochronology and Lu-Hf isotopes

Responsibilities

  • Conduct geochemical investigations of Archean-Paleoproterozoic rocks.
  • Lead fieldwork and laboratory analyses as part of PHAB projects.
  • Contribute to high-quality publications and presentations.
  • Collaborate within the PHAB team and with partners on planetary habitability research.
