Job Description

  1. Plans and schedules production operation based on volume forecast and actual requirements.
  2. Prepares and carries out the daily/weekly production schedule based on production volume forecast and actual orders received from stores.
  3. Determines and prepares requisitions for production and operating materials based on this production schedule.
  4. Prepares work schedules and job assignments of personnel in his area according to the production scheme planned.
  5. Ensures that all production equipment in his area have been checked and certified fit for use by Engineering to support the scheduled volume of production.
  6. Ensures that back-up lines are also in place in case of contingencies.
  7. Directs and controls the activities in his area to assure the smooth flow of production operations.
  8. Manages personnel assigned in his section.
  9. Prepares their work schedule and assignments.
  10. Monitors their attendance/time records and conformance to standards of sanitation and hygiene.
  11. Authorizes overtime work and approves leaves filed by employees.
  12. Monitors and evaluates their individual performance, including processing of Incident/Accident Reports.
  13. Provides opportunities for training and upgrading of skills to employees and keeps them well-motivated.
  14. Assures that the in-process standards and specifications in his assigned area are well-understood and consistently adhered to.
  15. Conducts training/orientation of personnel in his section on standard operating procedures.
  16. Maintains accurate and timely process control records required in the section.
  17. Monitors the quality, proper handling, and use of equipment, tools, and testing instruments in his area.
  18. Coordinates with engineering supervisors/technicians on repairs and maintenance requirements in his area.
  19. Establishes accountability of personnel to the proper use of said equipment/tools and testing instruments.
  20. Monitors the quality, usage/consumption of production materials and other operational requirements issued to his area.
  21. Ensures that standard yields/material balance is consistently achieved in his area.
  22. Assures product and material traceability as fast as practicable.
  23. Monitors the effective and efficient use of manhours in his area based on established work standards.
  24. Ensures that his area contributes to the consistent attainment of quality and safety standards for finished products and the workplace.
  25. Ensures that areas, facilities, and utilities in his area are well maintained and conform to standards of sanitation and safety.
  26. Ensures that employees assigned in his section practice good sanitation and hygiene.
  27. Implements and maintains the HACCP management system in the department.
  28. Updates HACCP system if needed.
  29. Coordinates with other operating units on behalf of the section.
  30. Prepares accurate and timely production reports and other reports that may be required by management.
  31. Continuously seeks improvement in all aspects in his assigned area.
  32. Performs other duties/functions that may be assigned to him by his superiors.
Requirements

  1. Education: Bachelor degree holder, preferably in Food Science and Technology, Management, Industrial Engineering, and other related courses.
  2. Preferably, with basic knowledge/experience in bakery, meat, and poultry processing technology.
  3. Good at English communication, proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel formulation, and calculation.
  4. Good at analytical skills, root cause analysis, planning, and people management.
  5. Experience: At least 3 years working experience in a food manufacturing plant, preferably involved in similar production lines.
  6. At least 1 year of which in a supervisory capacity.
  7. Experience in handling production seminars, training, and similar orientation programs.
  8. Human relations: Ability to maintain effective relations with all employees at all levels and in all units.
  9. Integrity: maintains the highest standards of ethics, shows professional appearance and conduct at all times, commands attention and respect.
  10. Leadership: ability to inspire his unit and its employees in achieving their goals and work as a team.
  11. Adaptability: ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments and priorities on short notice.
  12. Communication skills: Keeps other members of the organization informed on matters that must be communicated to all employees.
  13. Expresses himself clearly and effectively both in written and verbal communication.
  14. Ability to make timely decisions based on logical assumptions and using all available information.
  15. Resilience/tolerance to stress: maintains stability and effectiveness under pressure.
  16. Physical effort: Requires constant floor supervision and being assigned in the night shift.
  17. Willingness to travel across Vietnam.
  18. Working hours: Monday to Friday during office hours, and shift work when required (6 AM - 2 PM, 2 PM - 10 PM, 10 PM - 6 AM).
