Job summary

New Communities is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Norway to assist adults with intellectual disabilities in educational and social activities within the community. The role emphasizes energy, compassion, and professionalism in delivering engaging support.

The position is part-time (8 hours/week) with afternoons (Mon & Tue 12p–4p). Compensation ranges from $15.10 to $15.85 per hour, plus benefits including paid training, same-day pay, and a 403(b) retirement plan with 5% company

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents and staff whose primary language is English.

Responsibilities

• Actively engage with adults with intellectual disabilities in community activities.
• Support participants in educational, recreational, artistic, and social events.
• Foster health and well-being through program focus areas such as farm-to-table, community connections, and art connections.

The role:

Do you want to make a difference in people's lives? As a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in the Norway Ventures Community Support Services Program, you will be responsible for actively engaging with and supporting adults with intellectual disabilities as they connect with their community and engage in educational, recreational, artistic, and social events and activities. The position requires a high level of energy and enthusiasm, combined with creativity, compassion, and professionalism.

Our program features three focus areas - farm-to-table, community connections, and art connections. Each focus area provides participants with engaging opportunities to develop relationships and skills that support health and well-being. Join our program as a DSP and spend the day supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities in a variety of fun and engaging community activities!

The schedule:

This is a part-time afternoon position with guaranteed 8 hours/week working Monday & Tuesday 12p-4p.

Hourly pay is between $15.10-$15.85/hour, depending on certifications.

Requirements

Direct Support Professional (DSP) Requirements:

• A high school diploma/GED
• 18 years of age or over
• Active driver's license
• Experience in direct care, preferred, but not required. Willing to train
• Must be able to communicate effectively with residents and coworkers whose primary language is English
