Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd is seeking a Design Manager to join our Data Centre team in Norway. You will lead design coordination, ensuring outputs meet client requirements, regulations and contracts.

You'll manage consultants and subcontractors, drive design programmes, and support risk management to deliver integrated, buildable solutions. A degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management and 5–7 years’ experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in design management or technical coordination within construction or a related sector.
• Strong knowledge of design processes, building regulations and industry standards.
• Experience in managing consultants and subcontractor design packages.

Responsibilities

• Manage the production and delivery of design information in line with programme requirements.
• Coordinate the inputs of consultants, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve fully integrated design solutions.
• Support the development and management of design programmes, deliverables and reporting.
• Ensure timely resolution of design queries and interface issues across disciplines.
• Review design documentation for accuracy, compliance and alignment with specifications.
• Monitor statutory and regulatory requirements to ensure design outputs meet obligations.
• Record, manage and communicate design risks, ensuring residual risks are addressed.
• Support the Senior Design Manager in design reviews, workshops and client presentations.

Overview

We are seeking a Desing Manager to join our team Data Centre team in Norway. The Design Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the design process on allocated projects or packages, ensuring that design outputs are compliant, deliverable and aligned with client requirements, statutory regulations and contractual obligations. The role works closely with Senior Design Managers, project teams, consultants and the wider supply chain to deliver coordinated, buildable and cost-effective design solutions. The Design Manager plays a central role in ensuring design integration, supporting risk management and driving value through technical solutions.

Responsibilities

Design Coordination

• Manage the production and delivery of design information in line with programme requirements.
