Job summary

John Sisk & Son Ltd in Norway is seeking a Project Manager (Building) to lead data centre construction from pre-construction through to completion. You will ensure delivery on time, within budget and to high quality, while managing client and stakeholder relationships and leading cross-functional teams.

The role requires proven project delivery experience, strong leadership, and comprehensive knowledge of health, safety and quality standards in construction.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills with ability to manage teams and subcontractors.
  • Excellent understanding of project delivery processes including scheduling, cost control and quality management.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage and deliver projects in line with programme, budget and specifications.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, commercial, design and construction function.
  • Monitor progress, manage risks and implement corrective actions where required.
  • Ensure resources are effectively allocated and project milestones are achieved.
  • Maintain accurate reporting on progress, costs, quality and performance indicators.
  • Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental performance across all activities.
  • Ensure all works comply with design, specifications and statutory regulations.
  • Implement and monitor project-specific quality plans, method statements and inspection regimes.
  • Support audits, inspections and reviews to maintain compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, variations and project cash flow.
  • Work closely with the commercial team to ensure accurate reporting and contract administration.
  • Ensure procurement processes are followed and subcontractor performance is managed effectively.
  • Support tendering and bid processes where required.
  • Lead project teams, fostering collaboration, accountability and professional development.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
  • Chair progress and coordination meetings, ensuring clear communication of objectives and outcomes.
  • Act as the key point of contact for project-related queries, decisions and escalations.

Overview

We are Seeking a Project Manager ( Building) to join the Data Centre team in Norway. Reporting to the Project Director, the Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. The role ensures that work is carried out safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards. The Project Manager provides leadership to project teams, manages client and stakeholder relationships, and ensures compliance with all contractual, regulatory and company requirements.

Responsibilities
Project Delivery

  • Excellent understanding of project delivery processes including scheduling, cost control and quality management
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and best practice
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Desirable
  • Experience delivering projects in sectors such as life sciences, data centres, infrastructure or commercial construction
  • Understanding of digital project delivery tools including BIM and project management software
  • Commercial awareness including contract law and cost management principles
  • Ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and promote innovation
Essential
Qualifications
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in project management within a Tier 1 construction or engineering environmen
  • Relevant health and safety certification (e.g. Safe Pass, CSCS, SMSTS or equivalent)
Desirable
  • Professional membership or working towards membership of a recognised body (e.g. CIOB, Engineers Ireland, RICS, ICE)
  • Postgraduate qualification in project management or business management
  • Training in lean construction, digital project delivery or sustainability practices
