NOBA Bank Group is seeking a Data Scientist for the IFRS9/Modelling team in Oslo, focusing on credit risk models that measure risk for customers across six countries. You will bridge modelling, engineering, and analysis from data to decision, contributing to production code and regulatory-ready documentation.

You will develop PD, LGD, EAD models, support the move to Databricks on Azure, and collaborate with IT, Finance, and other departments.

Qualifications

  • Higher education in a quantitative subject.
  • Around two to three years of relevant working experience (PhD or research counts).
  • Strong Python for data work (pandas, numpy, scipy).
  • Confidence writing SQL and bringing code to production.
  • Maintainable code with version control, tests and code reviews.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; able to present to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with credit scoring or scorecard modelling is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with IFRS9 modelling, Databricks/Azure or other cloud platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, validate, implement, and simulate credit risk models (PD, LGD, EAD, staging).
  • Implement models as production code in the ECL engine with tests and reviews.
  • Build and maintain risk monitoring, forecasting, and reporting tools.
  • Document models to validators, auditors, and regulators expectations.
  • Query and prepare data behind models (mostly SQL).
  • Contribute to move to Databricks on Azure and improve tooling.
  • Carry out analytical work and present results to technical and business audiences.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Marketing and other departments.
