Job description

We are now looking for our next Country Manager / Trade Commissioner to head up our fantastic team in Norway and to be part of growing our footprint and presence in the region. You will have the exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic region Europa, contributing to developing the region together with your colleagues and helping Swedish companies grow!

Business Sweden in Norway currently has a team of 6 colleagues in the office in Oslo. Together with our colleagues across the region, we make up a successful, dedicated and dynamic team who all share the same ambition to generate maximum value for our clients.

As Country Manager / Trade Commissioner, you will have full profit, loss, and personnel responsibility for Business Sweden operations in Norway. You are expected to strongly contribute to the Nordic agenda, including financials, sales and client impact.

The role includes both strategic, tactic and operational responsibilities such as:

  • Representing interests of Swedish companies and Business Sweden in the market
  • Selling and marketing Business Sweden's services to existing and potential new clients in both Sweden and in Norway/the region, including add-on sales in on-going projects. In addition, we expect that you as a Trade Commissioner / Country Manager for Norway is also focused and contributes on the regional as well as global agenda when it comes to sales and delivery in various projects
  • Maintaining continuous contact with existing and potential clients and stakeholders
  • Managing, planning and participating in the execution of consulting/ internationalisation assignments
  • Full Profit & Loss responsibility
  • Management of the office and employees, inspiring and developing the team
  • Developing business processes and organisation
  • Operating from a global perspective to promote Swedish industry and companies
  • Work in a Team Sweden context with the transition from aid to broader cooperation, coordinating export promotion initiatives with development cooperation
  • You will have very close relations to the Swedish representations in the market. This means that you will be an official representative for Sweden, acting in close collaboration with the Swedish Embassy, the Swedish Foreign Service and other organisations

The role is based in Oslo, but you will be expected to work with our teams and clients around the world, as required.

Formal requirements

  • Higher academic degree, probably a Master within Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience from a consultancy firm or equivalent
  • You have experience of management of employees, including direct personnel responsibility
  • You have experience from multi-stakeholder projects
  • Extensive experience from selling and delivering complex market expansion advisory projects
  • You have a high level of proficiency in English and Swedish, Norwegian is meriting
  • Experience from living/working in Norway is meriting
  • Swedish citizenship is required
  • Registration in the Swedish population register is required
