Job summary

Nama in Bergen is seeking a dedicated dishwasher / kitchen assistant to join a fast-paced, team-focused kitchen. You will help ensure a steady supply of clean dishes, glasses and utensils while supporting the cooks and front-of-house staff.

Responsibilities include loading and unloading dishwashers, storing wares properly, cleaning floors and machines, assisting with deliveries, and reporting any equipment issues. Training will be provided as part of a friendly, quality-driven team environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring the availability by cleaning of clean dishes, pots, pans, kitchen equipment and cutlery.
• Load and unload dishwashing machines
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately
• Cleaning floors in kitchen and appointed areas.
• Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, and pans, mixers, etc.
• Unloading and storing deliveries if needed.
• Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled.
• Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans.
• Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed.
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours
• Maintain cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and place orders to the Head chef when necessary
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues
