Job description

Grid Software | Finance | Norway

Location: Oslo or Trondheim

Want to work with numbers, but also understand the business behind them?

At Siemens Smart Infrastructure – Grid Software, we help grid operators, industrial companies and infrastructure providers accelerate the energy transition. We combine the physical and digital worlds across the value chain, from planning and implementation to operation and maintenance.

We are now looking for a Controlling Professional to join our Finance team in Norway for a 1.5-year fixed-term position. You will work closely with our software and consulting business, combining hands‑on controlling with business partnering and process improvement.

What will you do?

You will take an active role in the financial follow-up of our consulting business, working closely with operational teams, Sales and Finance. You will follow key areas such as revenue, costs, profitability, forecasting and resource utilization, while helping the business identify risks and opportunities early.

You will also support new offers and approval processes, providing financial input and challenging assumptions when needed. Just as importantly, we want you to look at how we work. You will have the opportunity to simplify and standardize processes and contribute to smarter ways of working through automation and digital tools.

In short, you will be close to the business and help turn financial insight into better decisions.

Is this you?

You have a relevant degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics or a similar field, combined with experience from controlling, business finance, project finance, commercial finance or a related role.

We believe you will thrive in this role if you:
  • Have a solid understanding of revenue, costs, profitability, forecasting, pricing and margins
  • Are analytical, structured and comfortable turning financial information into practical business insights
  • Have strong SAP and Excel skills and an interest in digitalization and automation
  • Enjoy working across Finance, Sales, consulting and project teams
  • Communicate well in English. Norwegian or Swedish is an advantage
  • You are curious, hands‑on and comfortable asking questions when something can be done better. You pay attention to the details, but you also understand the bigger business picture.
Why join us?

This is an opportunity to work close to the business and influence financial performance, from ongoing consulting activities and new customer opportunities to offers and financial decisions. At the same time, you will have room to challenge existing ways of working and help make our Finance processes simpler, more efficient and transparent.

You will combine controlling, commercial understanding and business partnering in an international technology environment contributing to the energy transition.
