Job summary

St. Olavs hospital in Trondheim seeks a pediatric neurologist for a 100% temporary substitute position lasting one year with possible extension. The role requires Norwegian medical authorization and a pediatric specialization or imminent LIS completion.

We have a temporary substitute position available in pediatric neurology and are seeking a professionally engaged consultant to our team. The duration of the temporary substitute position is one year with the possibility of extension. We want a specialist in paediatrics and adolescent medicine. LIS with a short time left until the specialty is also welcome to apply. Personal qualities and ability/motivation are weighted more than formal qualifications as there are good opportunities for training and further development.

The Children’s and Adolescent Clinic provides specialized assessment, treatment and follow-up of children and adolescents with acute and chronic conditions. We are the region's leading children’s and adolescent clinic with a number of regional and national functions. Within pediatric neurology we have a regional function for Central Norway, and receive patients from the entire region with a wide range of neurological conditions. The pediatric neurologists work both at the children’s clinic at departments on Øya and at the habilitation service at Lian. We have close cooperation with, among others, the neurosurgical department, the genetics department and BUP. The clinic has research activity in collaboration with NTNU and participates in national professional networks.

Responsibilities

• Assessment, diagnostics and treatment of children with acute and chronic neurological diseases/symptoms
• Participation in multidisciplinary teams around neurologically ill children at Øya and at Lian
• Outpatient clinic
• Supervisory function on the ward and intensive care unit
• Guidance of LIS doctors and teaching
• Contribute to professional development, professional development and research
• Participation in the department's on-call rota and ward operations

Qualifications

• Norwegian authorization as a physician
• Specialist in paediatrics or LIS with a short time left until specialization
• Interest in pediatric neurology and experience working with pediatric neurological patients
• Must master Norwegian well, both written and oral
