Overview
The International Marketing Team is responsible for introducing the Chick-fil-A Brand outside of the United States, including Canada. The Field Marketing role is responsible for delivering on Local Marketing Consulting and Activation support for the Chick-fil-A brand.
The Field Marketing role will serve as a trusted advisor to Operators by influencing and consulting on their strategy, tactics and investments within their areas and across their areas. They will help identify growth areas and provide support in partnership with the Area Support Team* to help Operators and their respective Restaurant Marketing Directors to achieve their growth goals for the year. This role will also lead the strategy and management of consumer-facing activations in the Canadian marketplace, bringing the Chick-fil-A brand to life in the country.
The Field Marketing role will report to the Marketing Senior Principal Team Leader. It is a non-people leader role.
The role will be expected to deliver in the following areas:
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive projects across Local Marketing and Activations to fuel growth in the Canadian market.
- Influence & Collaboration: Work closely across Canadian Teams, US colleagues, agencies and our Canadian Operator group to challenge concepts, leverage objective analytical rationale and invite conversation and collaboration while still maintaining trust.

*An Area Support Team is an integrated, cross-functional team that collaborates to foster growth and develop tailored strategies and solutions for each Operator, Restaurant, and market to promote long-term growth and performance.
Responsibilities
The Field Marketing role will be determined by performance in the following areas of responsibility:
Local Marketing Consulting
- Consult with Operators on marketing strategies & tactics that generate demand and build the brand.
- Uncover and leverage insights and seek to understand Operator plans to build recommendations, strategy and annual growth plans.
- Lead workshops for Operators for specified local targeted growth opportunities with apropos 1:1 follow-up consulting engagements. Field weekly questions and considerations from Operators and ensure timely and strategic resolution.
- Hold monthly local marketing calls with Operators to ensure regular communication and updates.
- Support Operators in finding synergies in their market across executions and promotions as well as develop a strategic POV to support on advising on community partnerships based on data and insights.
- Work to align local marketing strategy and plans with the Canadian Area Support Team strategy, the strategic priorities outlined by Marketing, and other enterprise-level strategic objectives and platforms.
- Partner with the Canadian team and Support Centre to build scalable local content and programs and advocate for Operator needs and priorities.
Experiential Marketing /Activation
- Work with Marketing leadership to develop the long-term Canadian activation strategy required to achieve defined business goals and obtain leadership approval.
- Oversee the selection and management of external vendors, including evaluating proposals, contract review and negotiations.
- Ensure seamless execution of unique and innovative brand activations within Chick-fil-A brand guidelines. Work collaboratively within the organization across Canada and with Support Centre staff throughout this process.
- Coordinate and manage end-to-end execution of experiential marketing events. Manage critical path and timelines with partners to keep events on track through to execution.
- Foster strong relationships with relevant suppliers, event properties, industry stakeholders and partners.
- Ensure post-campaign analyses are prepared to ensure optimizations for the future and budget reconciliation is conducted.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable skills can be acquired
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in an Account Management (agency), Consulting, Communications or Marketing role.
- Experience desired in at least one of the following areas: restaurant, hospitality, entertainment, food and beverage marketing, consulting, media.
- Experience with marketing analytics and insights.
- Flexibility of travel to the U.S as well as Ontario, Alberta and across Canada as required.
