Job summary

Thor is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support a major data center project based in Oslo, Norway. The role combines office planning with on-site supervision to ensure safety, schedule, budget, and quality standards are met.

You will work closely with project leadership, engineering teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to oversee day-to-day construction operations and ensure effective coordination across all project disciplines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager on large-scale projects.
• Data center construction experience is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, planning, and coordination.

• Monitor subcontractor performance, resources, and productivity.
• Review construction documentation, risk assessments, and quality records.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to support a major data center construction project based in Oslo, Norway. This is an office- and site-based role involving the coordination, management, and supervision of construction activities, ensuring that works are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the clients quality standards.

You will work closely with project leadership, engineering teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers to oversee day-to-day construction operations and ensure effective coordination across all project disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensuring works are delivered in accordance with project plans, specifications, and schedules.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site teams.
• Monitor construction progress against the project programme, identifying delays, risks, and potential issues.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with relevant HSEQ Standards.
• Coordinate with engineering and design teams to resolve technical queries, design changes, and construction-related challenges.
• Lead site meetings, progress reviews, and coordination meetings, ensuring actions are followed up and completed.
• Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship, resources, and productivity to ensure project requirements are met.
• Review construction documentation, method statements, risk assessments, inspection plans, and quality records.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Manager on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects.
• Previous experience working on data center construction project is an advantage
• Strong understanding of construction methods, project planning, site coordination, and subcontractor management.
• Good knowledge of HSEQ Regulations in Norway
• Experience coordinating multiple contractors and managing construction activities across different disciplines.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Employment: Contract / Consultant

Contract: 10 Months, Possibility of extension
