Job summary

Vespa.ai in Trondheim is seeking a Java-focused Software Engineer to help develop and improve Vespa Cloud control plane services and the Kubernetes Operator. You will design, implement and maintain Java services, work with cloud provider APIs and the Kubernetes API, and contribute tests and CI/CD pipelines.

We welcome early-career and experienced engineers; strong fundamentals and a will to learn matter. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• Strong programming fundamentals in Java and related languages.
• Experience with REST APIs and cloud deployments.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes and operator/controller development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and maintain Java services in Vespa Cloud control plane and Kubernetes Operator.
• Integrate with cloud provider APIs and Kubernetes API.
• Write automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with SRE and platform engineers on reliability.
