Job summary

Qualifications

• Must meet one of the listed entry criteria for Medical Assistant roles.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment with attention to patient safety.
• Demonstrated communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to complete required training and certification within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures according to clinic procedures.
• Reports observed patient concerns and changes in condition to licensed staff.
• Performs CLIA waived lab tests as identified by department and reports results to the appropriate personnel.
• Performs basic clinical tasks including suture removal, catheterization and injections (IM, Subq, intradermal).
• Acts as a chaperone during patient examinations and assists with procedures.
• Maintains cleanliness of examination rooms and unit equipment, restocks supplies as needed.
• Answers phones, forwards messages, and schedules appointments and tests under licensed staff direction.
• Assists in routine clerical tasks such as charting, records retrieval, and billing entries.
• Attends mandatory education including infection prevention, safety, CPR and equipment use.
• May perform patient phlebotomy and IV access after specialized training.
• May assist with education for patients and families with health information.
• May participate in transporting patients to departments or units as directed.
