Job summary

Skuld in Oslo seeks a dedicated Claims handler to join our Nordics and Eastern Europe team. You will own a claims portfolio and service members on FDD and P&I matters, while enjoying a flat structure that grants responsibility and trust.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Higher education degree required.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written) at a high professional level.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex claims handling across multiple subject areas.
  • Lead initiatives such as litigation strategy, recovery optimisation, and risk governance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Members, Brokers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Represent Skuld externally by promoting its services and sharing subject-matter expertise through stakeholder engagement, industry events, and professional forums.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Legal, Loss Prevention, and other relevant functions to deliver integrated, cross-functional solutions.

Job description

Skuld is now looking for a dedicated Claims handler to join our Nordics and Eastern Europe team in Oslo

We are looking for someone who can take ownership of one of our important claims portfolios and service our members on FDD and P&I matters.

What you will do:
  • Lead complex claims handling across multiple subject areas
  • Lead initiatives such as litigation strategy, recovery optimisation, and risk governance
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Members, Brokers, and internal stakeholders
  • Represent Skuld externally by promoting its services and sharing subject-matter expertise through stakeholder engagement, industry events, and professional forums
  • Collaborate with Underwriting, Legal, Loss Prevention, and other relevant functions to deliver integrated, cross-functional solutions
What we are looking for:
  • Experience with handling FDD and P&I disputes, either from a shipowner, club or law firm
  • Solid understanding of maritime law
  • Higher education and at least 7 years of relevant work experience
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written, at a high professional level
  • Knowledge of a Scandinavian language is beneficial
