Job description

Chief Operating Officer (COO) – Build the rig that powers our future

We are looking for a hands-on, structured, and driven COO to help shape Alva’s next chapter. Things move fast at Alva – and we intend to keep it that way. With product market fit established, a strong commercial pipeline, and global demand increasing, we are now scaling operations to meet the moment. Our growth is built on proprietary technology, backed by a comprehensive patent portfolio.

We need a COO to take the lead on making it all run – efficiently, reliably, and at scale – and who is willing to roll up their sleeves and take an active role in daily operations. This role is not just about processes and procedures. It is about getting things done. If you are a builder at heart, someone who thrives in complexity, and someone who knows how to lead people through change – we want to talk with you.

What you will be doing

We are preparing to scale from thousands to hundreds of thousands of motors annually – across several production facilities, with increasing levels of automation, strict quality requirements (from medical, robotics to aerospace), and a broad, global customer base.

  • Optimize and industrialize manufacturing
  • Establish outsourced manufacturing through partners
  • Optimize supply chain for growth, quality, and resilience
  • Own supplier strategy, COGS optimization, and quality control
  • Develop hybrid and licensing-based manufacturing models
  • Contribute to ERP and MES implementation, and build scalable operational frameworks
  • Contribute to ISO certification and internal control systems
  • Shape our future production footprint across geographies and technologies
  • Collaborate with engineering to embed Design for Manufacturing (DfM)
  • Build and lead a high-performing operations team that delivers – and enjoys the journey

Who we believe will thrive in this role

  • Operational leadership experience from manufacturing, industrial technology, or production scaling
  • A track record with operational excellence, ERP systems, process improvement, and quality frameworks
  • You are clear but collaborative – and you bring people with you
  • Strategic in approach with a strong sense of execution
  • Energized by fast-moving, high-complexity environments
  • Leads with confidence in uncertainty and brings clarity where others hesitate

Why Alva?

At Alva, we are developing electric motor technology that sets a new standard – lighter, more efficient, and more sustainable. We are entering a global scale-up phase with strong financial backing, a clear growth plan, and a huge opportunity space. You will join a team that experiments, iterates, and learns fast – and where your work will have real impact. We offer a competitive salary, stock option program, solid benefits – and most importantly: the chance to build something meaningful.
