Category Manager

Are you ready to lead the Norwegian expansion of an international brand that blends digital growth with retail presence?

MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a Rapidly Growing International brand to find a Category Manager for their expansion in Norway. This is a full-time on-site role based in Oslo.

As the Category Manager, you will be responsible for driving the growth of a key product category in Norway, managing both e-commerce and retail operations, and executing market strategies to expand the brand’s reach. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of a category and help build a market from the ground up in a company that is investing heavily in its Nordic expansion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the expansion of the assigned product category, developing and executing both e-commerce and retail strategies.
  • Oversee and optimize the Norwegian Shopify platform, ensuring a seamless and high-converting customer experience.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies for the category, working closely with influencer marketing and digital teams to build brand awareness.
  • Drive the retail growth of the category, supporting new store openings and ensuring commercial success in physical locations.
  • Manage inventory and logistics in Norway, ensuring an efficient supply chain and fast order fulfillment.
  • Build and lead a local team, hiring key personnel across marketing, sales, and operations for the category.
  • Own the P&L for the product category, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Establish new business areas and partnerships to accelerate market penetration and brand positioning.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience in category management, retail, or market expansion, ideally in fashion, sporting goods, or consumer brands.
  • Experience with Shopify or other e-commerce platforms.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and scale a team.
  • Demonstrated success in driving sales, managing P&L, and optimizing commercial performance.
  • Experience in logistics, inventory management, and omnichannel retail strategies.
  • Ability to work strategically while also executing hands-on in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
