Job description

Role: Data Cabling Engineer

Location: Norway

Job Type: Contract (at least until December)

Salary: €22-€28ph net (depending on experience)

Due to the duration of this contract, candidates must hold an EU passport, or have the right to work in Norway without any restrictions.

We’re looking for experienced data cabling engineers to join a major data centre project in Norway. If you’ve got a solid background in copper and fibre cabling, and you’re confident working in a fast-paced data centre environment, this could be the ideal contract for you.

This project is expected to last up until December, with a possible extension.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Installing and terminating copper (CAT6/CAT6A) and fibre optic cables
  • Running and laying large volumes of cable through containment systems (tray, basket, ladder, etc.)
  • Patching and testing copper links using test equipment
  • Labelling and dressing cables to a high standard
  • Completing rack and stack installations including patch panel and device placement
  • Building out cross-connects and structured cabling systems
  • Working from method statements, layouts, and cable schedules

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in structured cabling, especially within live or new-build data centres
  • Confident in copper installation, termination, and testing
  • Fibre installation knowledge (no splicing)
  • Attention to detail with labelling, dressing, and general cable management
  • Comfortable working 55 hours per week in a high-spec technical environment
  • Must hold an EU passport (due to local employment setup)
