Job summary

Mighty Bread Company in Philadelphia is seeking a bakery team member to support our daily production of naturally leavened breads. You will help with dough, shaping loaves, and assisting with oven operations in a fast-paced environment.

We value reliability and teamwork. Shifts start early (3:00 AM–7:00 AM) and may include weekends/holidays. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k). This role is essential to maintain quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial bakery or restaurant baking.
• Organized, reliable, and able to move quickly when needed.
• Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Shift availability between 3:00 AM–7:00 AM, with weekend/holiday work.

Responsibilities

• Divide dough and shape loaves with care.
• Assist with the morning bake and oven operations.
• Scale ingredients and prep for the day's bake.
• Pack and prep bread for delivery and maintain kitchen cleanliness.
• Support other bakery production tasks as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Divide dough and shape loaves with care and precision
• Execute our morning bake — experience with a steam-injected deck oven is a plus
• Scale ingredients and prep for the day’s bake
• Handle other bakery production tasks: prepping bakery items, cleaning, general kitchen upkeep
• Occasionally help with packing, bagging, and prepping bread for delivery
• Safely lift up to 50 lbs

Must-haves

• Previous experience in commercial bakery or restaurant baking
• Organized, reliable, and able to move quickly when needed — oven-room heat and fermenting dough wait for no one
• Physical stamina and comfort lifting 50 lbs
• Flexibility: shifts generally begin between 3:00 AM–7:00 AM, with weekend and holiday availability required
• Willingness to handle whatever needs doing — from baking to cleanup to prep — with a team-focused mindset
