Job summary

VIPCARE is recruiting a Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced primary care setting. You will prepare patients for examinations, assist providers, and document encounters in the EMR.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program completion, CPR/BLS, and 1+ year of experience. Vaccinations, phlebotomy, and IV therapy may be involved where permitted by state regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual Spanish required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred (CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or equivalent certification).
• 1+ year(s) of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice, outpatient, or ambulatory care setting preferred.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required or obtained within organizational guidelines.
• IV Therapy certification preferred, where permitted by state regulations.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, infection prevention, and CLIA regulations.
• Knowledge of medical coding principles preferred.
• Experience using electronic medical records (EMRs).
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
• Excellent customer service and telephone etiquette.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and administrative support to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during visits.
• Document patient encounters, treatments, and results in the EMR.
• Administer medications, immunizations, and routine procedures as directed.
• Coordinate front office tasks: scheduling, registrations, referrals, and communications.
• Maintain clean, organized workspaces and ensure infection prevention standards.
